Events at Calgary's New Fight Venue

Aa total of four partners have put together a new facility to promote fight events in. no longer will events have to be held in hockey arena's. the advantage is as follows:

- plans are to host monthly fight events for muay thai, kickboxing, mixed martial arts (in an octagon cage), and possibly boxing and wrestling.
- the venue holds seating for 3000 people.
- the venue has a professional size boxing ring (for muay thai, kickboxing and boxing) as well as a professional octagon cage for mixed martial arts.

"we also plan on holding events where profits will be donated to many charities. we hope to support charities for children and homeless mothers. we have already set up the plans for the first charity show (grand opening) and i am presently ironing out the details for the first fighting event for charity."

september 13th - grand opening of calgary’s newest sports and entertainment venue. join us at our grand opening concert september 13th with wide mouth mason. all proceeds go to the children’s hospital. entrance is a minimum $5 donation. we are located at the old currie army barracks - hanger #3, 2834 falaise ave. sw t3e-7j2, calgary, ab. for more information call us at 619.1292.

september 27th - north american muay thai, kickboxing, full contact championships 'the north versus the south' / wka north american championships a selection of winners from the wka american nationals comes up to battle with a selection of winners from the canadian golden gloves for the bragging rights to becoming wka north american champions. possibly filmed for tsn. more information on this to follow.

november 8th - battle at the base

some of canada's top muay thai and kickboxing athletes converge in calgary for tsn's international 'battle at the base' promotion. the following athletes have already agreed to competing on this event: trevor smandych (alberta) vs. an american athlete, erin linley (alberta) in a north american 4 woman tournament, scott clark (alberta), luke spicer (alberta), mark hominick (ontario) against an american athlete, and ryoichi sukenobu (british columbia). "i have contacted a few other athletes that i am still waiting for a reply from including blake lirette (british columbia), and guiseppe denatale (manitoba), and possibly adam higson (ontario)." more on this to follow as athletes sign contracts and matches are confirmed.
