By Leila Marimuthu

i've lost 42kgs in the last two years. purely through making responsible decisions about food and getting an interest in exercise! in may 2001, i hit the point where i needed to make a decision on where i wanted my weight and fitness to be. i weighed 98kg (at 5'2") and was a size 18, soon to be a size 20. it was from then, that i made small changes to the way i ate and they amount of activity/movement i did. my exercise entailed walking, stationary bike and aerobics videos in the early days, venturing into more high intensity activities like step aerobics, weight-training (great for toning and a must do for any fat burner diet!), squash, basketball and some not as high intensity like yoga. now, i train in muay thai (thai kickboxing) about 3 times a week and train on weights about 5 days a week with the odd run thrown in here and there. i've drastically reduced my body fat and have a lot more lean muscle now which makes most guys take a step back when i give them a flex ;) being small in stature as well as size, now means that i need to train a lot more in speed, footwork and ring-craft so i can hold my own against taller opponents or those with long limbs! i?ve also reduced my dress size from a size 18/20 to my current size 6/8 and now weigh 58kg! you can check out a review on me here after i began competing in the national all styles (australia): http://www.nationalallstyles.com.au/hotlinks/leila-marimuthu.php hope this motivates you some!
